Xian Lim reached another milestone in his aviation journey as he took his first solo flight and earned his pilot epaulette.

The actor gave a glimpse of his flying performance as well as the “little tradition” he underwent after his first solo flight, through his Instagram page last Saturday, Nov. 23.

In the clip, Lim is shown kneeling on the ground and holding the plane’s propeller while the flight staff splash water on his body and face.

“Earned my epaulette today,” he said in the caption, thanking the aviation school for the “life changing journey.”

Last month, Lim marked his first time piloting a plane with a companion, saying “nothing compares to the thrill of taking flight and seeing the world from above.”

Lim started his aviation course last September, sharing that it had been his dream to become a pilot since he was a kid.

“There’s that certain level of respect when you meet pilots,” he said at the time. “You know, when you look up in the sky, [you ask yourself], how does that even work? How do they fly?”

“It’s a thing na gusto ko talagang gawin but I just didn’t know how, ‘yung mga first steps to take,” he added.
